About Capital Stump Grinding

It all started when…

Capital Stump Grinding was started by owner Brian Gunnoud. Brian is a seven year active duty veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. While serving on Cape Cod in 2007, he had an opportunity to join a tree service company, where he started off as groundsman, but quickly became a climber. While on the Cape, Brian took advantage of the opportunities provided by the companies he worked for and learned all areas of tree service, including tree removal, pruning, tree cabling, and stump grinding. After deciding to separate from service to pursue another career he began doing tree work full time while going to college. Brian moved back to Connecticut in 2011 and in 2012 started his dream job as a career firefighter. Even while working as a firefighter he continued doing tree work on the side. After several years of working for other companies decided to start Capital Stump Grinding llc.

Brian has an inherent sense to help others. His careers in the Coast Guard and fire department have allowed him to fulfill that calling everyday. He believes customer service is the most important part of conducting business. As stated by him, “A positive referral is the best type of advertisement. We are not happy unless the customer is happy!”
